About Tequesta Trace Park
Tequesta Trace Park is a 42 acre City of Weston community park on Indian Trace, right next to Tequesta Trace Middle School. The skatepark sits inside it, so lessons happen in a busy, well kept city park rather than a lot on its own.
It's a sports park first: ball fields, a stadium track and turf fields all around. That makes it an easy spot for a family to split up, with one kid in a skate lesson while another is at practice.
Park hours: 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily (City of Weston).
Skateboard Lessons For Kids In Weston
A lot of Weston families start here. Paul teaches kids to stand, push, turn and stop safely, then builds up to ramps and first tricks. Parents can watch the whole lesson.

Getting To The Park
Finding It
- On Indian Trace in Weston, beside Tequesta Trace Middle School (1800 Indian Trace).
- In Weston's Indian Trace neighborhood, the part of the city first developed by Arvida.
- A short drive for families in Davie, Cooper City, Southwest Ranches, Pembroke Pines, Sunrise and Plantation.
Parking
- The park has its own City of Weston parking lot, so there's no hunting for street parking.
What To Bring
- A helmet, wrist guards, elbow pads and knee pads. The city's skate park rules say skaters bring their own, and there is nothing to rent at the park.
- Your board, if you have one. If not, tell Paul when you book.
- Water and sunscreen. Weston afternoons are hot.

Weston Park Questions
Is the Tequesta Trace skatepark free?
Yes. The City of Weston runs it free of charge. You only pay for the lesson with Paul.
What happens if there's lightning?
Tequesta Trace Park has the city's lightning warning system. A loud horn blast means everyone in the park, lessons included, heads for shelter; three short blasts give the all clear.
Do I need pads and a helmet?
Yes. The city's rules for the skatepark say skaters provide their own helmet, wrist guards, elbow pads and knee pads.
Can I watch my kid's lesson?
Yes. There are shelters with seating around the park, and parents can watch the whole lesson from the side of the skatepark.
